At the invitation of Irkutsk State University, Alexey Fominykh, Head of the International Project Office of Volga State University of Technology and research fellow of Jean Monnet Center of Excellence, has participated in the scientific seminar “Actual Problems of EU Studies in Siberia”.
The seminar was held in Irkutsk on March 25-26. It was organized by the members of the Department of Political Science, History and Regional Studies, Fernand Braudel Center for International and European Studies (CIES) and the Department of World History and International Relations of the Historical Faculty of ISU (Irkutsk State University)
Participants discussed current state and prospects for developing relations between the EU and Russia in various areas, including political dialogue, economic cooperation, cooperation in the scientific, cultural and educational spheres.
Activities of Jean Monnet Center of Excellence SUFEX at Volga State University of Technology aroused great interest among colleagues from Irkutsk and Tomsk. Alexey Fominykh presented his research on the EU Public diplomacy, which in the future will constitute a separate chapter in the collective monograph (publications are scheduled in 2017 by Irkutsk State University).
